Dr. Samantha Hoerner

Medical Director, DVM

Education: Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine

Hometown: Dubuque

Pets: Enzo

Samantha Hoerner, a Dubuque native, completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She then went on to earn her doctorate from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine, as well as building relationships with pets and their owners. When not at work, she can be found boating on the Mississippi River or spending time with her husband, Ben, and their dog, Enzo. Samantha is ecstatic to be joining the team at Adams, serving her hometown and the surrounding areas.

Dr. Connie Niklasen

Associate Veterinarian, DVM, CVSMT, CVA

Pets: Drax, the Chocolate Lab and Leia the Alaskan Malamute. Multiple farm cats, chickens, ducks and a Peacock reside at her residence as well!

Dr. Niklasen offers: Acupuncture and Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy in addition to the regular services provided at Adams Pet Hospital.

Dr. Mary Wagner

Associate Veterinarian, DVM

Education: Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine

Pets: dogs, cats, tortoises, goats and chickens!

Dr. Wagner brings a wealth of expertise, specializing in dental care, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, as well as exotic animal medicine.

A proud graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Wagner’s journey into veterinary medicine was inspired by her early love for the joy, excitement and curiosity she experienced from animals at zoos and aquariums. Her passion for caring for critters – big and small – has been lifelong and she is dedicated to ensuring every animal lives it’s best life.
